AXA Financial Participates In Global Day Of Service;
Employees Of AXA Advisors, Equitable Life, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette And Alliance Capital Join In Global Philanthropic Community Effort -- AXA 2000

New York, NY - As participants in the AXA Group's "Global Day of Service," employees and associates of the AXA Financial, Inc. family of companies are volunteering their time on Friday, June 16th, and Saturday, June 17th, to various community projects throughout the U.S. AXA Financial and all AXA-affiliated companies worldwide are joining the simultaneous volunteer effort known as AXA 2000, a two-day, global community outreach project.

The global AXA Group has asked its approximately 130,000 employees and associates worldwide to participate on June 16th or 17th in local volunteer projects in 60 countries where AXA companies conduct business.

"As the global economy evolves, the business community can take a leadership role in volunteerism and social consciousness," commented Ed Miller, President and CEO, AXA Financial. "Our efforts on these special days will complement all that we do year- round to underscore our commitment to the community and our role as good corporate citizens."

In the U.S., the AXA Financial volunteer efforts cover a wide range of activities. Examples include assisting at soup kitchens, painting benches in public parks, preparing summer camp grounds, refurbishing public schools, chaperoning elementary school youngsters on field trips and spending time at senior citizen facilities. The AXA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of AXA Financial, is coordinating these efforts and making monetary contributions to the various organizations hosting the volunteer efforts.

The AXA Group's "Global Day of Service" grew out of the extensive volunteer programs that function within the organization. For example, both Paris-based AXA, the majority shareholder of AXA Financial, and AXA Financial serve the communities in which they do business with major grant and volunteer programs. In France, AXA's efforts are coordinated through its "Hearts In Action" program. At AXA Financial, the AXA Foundation has long been a contributor to U.S. communities through its grants and volunteer activities.
