AXA Achievement Frequently Asked Questions [FAQ’s]

Q:  What is AXA’s philanthropic focus?
A: The signature program of the AXA Foundation, AXA Achievement provides resources that help make college possible: access and advice.

Through AXA Achievement, AXA is one of the nation’s largest corporate providers of scholarships and a comprehensive resource to help students and parents plan for college.

Q:  Why does AXA focus its giving on higher education?
A:  AXA developed AXA Achievement because, as one of the premier U.S. financial protection organizations, the company understands how challenging the road to college can be.

In addition to awarding more than $1.3 million a year in scholarships, AXA Achievement provides information to help students and parents navigate the complex process of college selection, application and financing.

Q:  What is an AXA Achiever?
A:   Winners of AXA–sponsored scholarships are known as AXA Achievers.  They are ethnically and economically diverse, but they share these qualities:

•     Ambition and drive
•     Determination to set and reach goals
•     Respect for self, family and community
•     Ability to succeed in college

Q:  Who are our partners in AXA Achievement?
A:  Our current partners are Scholarship America, U.S. News & World Report, the National Association for College Admission Counseling [NACAC] and National PTA, chosen because they represent the best in their fields.

  • Scholarship America is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit private sector scholarship and educational support organization.  It has distributed over $1billion to more than one million students since its founding in 1958.
  • U.S. News’ annual Best Colleges issue is one of the premier sources of information on postsecondary education.
  • NACAC is an organization of more than 9,000 professionals from around the world dedicated to helping students realize their full potential as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education.
  • National PTA is the largest volunteer parent organization in the United States.  Since its founding in 1897, National PTA has been a powerful voice for children, a relevant resource for parents, and a strong advocate for public education.
